About

Hello, I’m John Dimick. I’ve been playing classical guitar and a bit of flamenco and other styles for more than 40 years. Guitarist.com is my website and this is the blog that goes with it.

This website first went online way back in the year 3 BG — three years Before Google. (Ok, 1994.) It was fun being an online pioneer for the first few years, but then I moved on to other activities and Guitarist.com languished for more than a decade.

Recently, however, I’ve come back to it, mostly as a video “curator.” I’ve been finding inspiring videos online and posting them on the blog.

There are times when it seems that Beauty is all that makes life worth living. I am very grateful for the gifts of beauty that have helped me all these years, and especially for the gifts that come from the lives of artists like Julian Bream, Isaac Albeniz, and J.S. Bach, to name just a few.

So I want to help pass these gifts along. Guitarist.com helps me do that. It helps me share the kind of beautiful guitar playing that has meant the most to me in my life.

  1. Thank you for the news about Julian Bream and his inspired decision to donate his art collection to the music school with blank walls in Cardiff. My memories of his playing in the 1950s are very precious to me. The avenue photograph has a sadness with the figure departing, but it is very beautiful.
