Guitarist.com went online in 1995. It was fun being a pioneer the first few years, but then I moved on to other activities and the site languished for two decades.

Now I’ve come back to it, mostly as a video “curator.” I like finding inspiring videos and posting them on the blog. I’ve even started shooting videos of my own:

I am grateful for the gifts of beauty that come from the lives of artists. Guitarist.com helps me pass these gifts along.

Thank you for the news about Julian Bream and his inspired decision to donate his art collection to the music school with blank walls in Cardiff. My memories of his playing in the 1950s are very precious to me. The avenue photograph has a sadness with the figure departing, but it is very beautiful.

Hey John! Great to see your name again. It is 2am Saturday morning and just was sniffing around the web looking for little treasures and lo and behold I found your site. Hope things are well for you and I will check you out. Best to the family!

John, you remain notable in my development (still in progress) as a guitarist. I trust this finds you well and happy!

Hey Daniel! Juergas, SBGS, the Upstart Crow, gigging in Silicon Valley…all good memories when I think of you. That’s the way it should be!

    All the best,
    John

    Hello John,
It’s your student, Don Petersen. I am glad to hear that you and Francis are both safe and sound after the Columbia Gorge fire scare. I hope to visit Portland in the next couple of months and would love to see you and Francis while visiting Jeff and Cyndy.

I also would like to pick your brain on video equipment. I am dissatisfied with my iPhone videos of some of my performances and wondered if you would share some ideas on what equipment to purchase to do some quality videos for posting on social networks, such as You Tube and or Facebook.

Hope to hear from you soon.
